General Membership Luncheons
Almost every month the Lubbock Apartment Association (LAA) hosts a luncheon at a local venue. All members of the association are encouraged to attend. These luncheons are a great way to meet other individuals in the multi-family housing industry and learn about the activities happening in the association. The meetings are informative and a lot of fun. Each meeting has a special program with a speaker.

State of the City Address
The Lubbock Apartment Association (LAA) is thrilled every year to have the Mayor of Lubbock give the State of the City Address to our membership. LAA has hosted the State of the City Address for over 20 years and welcome the entire city of Lubbock to attend. The luncheon is the first opportunity for the Mayor to recap the city’s condition and activities from the previous year. In 2005 we had over 400 attend this event.

Education Conference & Trade Show
Each fall the Lubbock Apartment Association (LAA) hosts an Education Conference and Trade Show for the membership. The Education Conference has top ranked seminars, which cover a variety of topics for management personnel and maintenance technicians. A motivational seminar is also provided for everyone to attend including Product / Service Members.
The Trade Show is a great opportunity for businesses to showcase their products and services to our membership. Typically the Trade Show is a daylong event that includes 300 members viewing the booths on exhibit. The Trade Show is a themed event, which makes it very fun and entertaining.

Business Exchange
The Business Exchange is a unique event that allows businesses to have one-on-one interaction with apartment industry leaders. It has been described as a ‘reverse trade show’. Each participating business member is able to have approximately 10 minutes with each decision maker to discuss his or her products and services. The event is currently scheduled for every other year.

Golf Tournament and Casino Night
Every spring a Golf Tournament is held at a local country club. This is a fun day for golfers and a great opportunity to network. The day is packed with different activities and opportunities for you to market your company. In the evening a casino party is held. Other members not participating in golfing are invited to come eat dinner and play casino games. Raffles are held and prizes are given away throughout the evening.

Installation and Award Ceremony
Early in the year the Lubbock Apartment Association (LAA) holds the Installation and Award Ceremony. This is an elegant evening where you have the opportunity to dress your best and eat great food. This event highlights the past year’s activities and leadership. The Texas Apartment Association President installs the new Board of Directors and officers. The anticipated Manager of the Year and Maintenance Technician of the Year awards are also presented.

‘Magic of Giving’ Holiday Food Drive
Each fall, association members team up to make a difference in the community with the ‘Magic of Giving’ Holiday Food Drive. Everyone comes together to help collect food and money for the South Plains Food Bank. Apartment communities collect food from residents while businesses try to collect food from customers. Every year the event is a great success.

‘Share the Warmth’ Coat Drive
In 2005, LAA became the official sponsor of the 'Share the Warmth' coat drive. The goal of the coat drive is to collect items of warmth and distribute clean and wearable items to children and adults in-need on the South Pains. This includes scarves, sweaters, gloves, hats and coats. In 2006, association volunteers and over 140 community partners collected and distributed over 4,000 coats and items of warmth.

Housing Fair
The Lubbock Apartment Association (LAA) hosts a Housing Fair at Texas Tech University each Spring. This is a wonderful opportunity for rental communities to market their properties to Texas Tech University students, facility and staff. Each participant gets a booth and is able to hand out information and gifts to over 1,300 attendees. The event is very fun and festive with a theme, activities and prizes. The students and apartment representatives really look forward to this great event!
